Jr. Sabres O.J.H.L.’s McFadden Selected to Team Canada for Jr. A World Challenge
The Buffalo Junior Sabres of the Ontario Junior Hockey League are pleased to congratulate forward Dylan McFadden on his selection to play for Team Canada East in the 2024 Junior A World Challenge. The tournament will be played from December 9-15 in Camrose, Alta. McFadden, a native of Smithville, Ont., paces the Jr. Sabres’ attack to date this season with 15 goals while serving as team captain.
Dylan had this to say on his selection and the support from the team: “It’s an incredible honor being able to play for my country. It’s what every kid dreams of growing up, and to put that maple leaf on is a surreal feeling. The Jr. Sabres have supported me for many years now, and not only made me a better player on the ice - but a better person. The organization is special to me because they opened their arms to me when I was fourteen years old, and I haven’t looked back. I have had the privilege of having great coaches in Buffalo that believed in me. They allowed me the opportunity to be a leader, and gave me the confidence to be successful.”
Jr. Sabres head coach & general manager Sean Wallace offered his thoughts: “I’m very proud to see Dylan earn an opportunity with Team Canada East. He’s always been a very talented player, but this year we’ve challenged him to be a complete player, and he’s taken tremendous pride in that. Whether it’s a timely shot block, a clutch faceoff win, or a big goal, Dylan continues to be the leader of our group - and we can’t wait to see him represent the Jr. Sabres at the Jr. A World Challenge.”
McFadden has committed to continue his education and hockey career at Niagara University, beginning with the 2025-26 season.
