Owen Tylec Commits To Notre Dame

Jr. Sabres Alum and current member of the Chicago Steel, Owen Tylec, has announced his commitment to continue his hockey career at University of Notre Dame. Tylec, a 5'10", 170 lb. forward from Wheatfield, NY, played for the Jr. Sabres organization from 2019-2023. Typically leading his teams in points, Owen finished the 2022-23 with 59 goals and 43 assists for a total of 102 points. 

He was drafted by the Chicago Steel in the 2022 USHL Phase 1 Draft in the 4th round, 60th overall. So far this season, Tylec has a goal and an assist in 7 games with the Steel.

“Owen was a huge part of the overall success of the 2006 group here in Buffalo," said Coach Polino. “He was a leader both on and off the ice. Someone who the team looked to when the job needed to get done. He becomes the 4th player from our ’06 group too announce his commitment to a division 1 program, and I could not be happier for him and his family."
